For EU countries other than Germany and Austria.
We continue to deliver directly to Germany and Austria as usual.

YOU ARE STILL VERY WELCOME HERE

You can still order directly from us from another EU country.

We look forward to your order! Unfortunately, the new EU Packaging Regulation means that delivery to addresses outside Germany and Austria now involves a small extra step. We are very sorry about this.

How to order from another EU country
A small extra step for your favourite finds.

Why this extra step is needed

The new EU Packaging Regulation aims to reduce packaging waste and improve recycling. For retailers like us, shipping to other EU countries brings additional obligations and ongoing costs, such as registrations and local authorised representatives. As a small shop, we unfortunately cannot currently cover these costs at our order volumes. That is why we currently deliver directly only to Germany and Austria.

YOUR WAY TO PLACING AN ORDER

A German address. Three simple steps.

A parcel forwarding service gives you a delivery address in Germany. Your parcel is received there and then forwarded to you on your behalf.

01

Get a delivery address

Choose a service that delivers to your country. Check the price and register with them. You will receive a German delivery address, often with a personal customer number.

02

Order from us

Enter this as your delivery address exactly as instructed by the service, including your name and customer number. Use your actual address as your billing address.

03

Arrange forwarding

We deliver to the German address. Once your parcel arrives there, you choose and pay for onward shipping with the forwarding service. Depending on the provider, you may need to authorise dispatch in your account.

Good to know: You order the goods from us and arrange forwarding separately with the provider. You organise and pay for the forwarding. Your statutory rights relating to your purchase from us remain unaffected.

Other options

With their permission, you can have your order delivered to them. You arrange between yourselves whether to collect it during a visit or have them send it on privately. Collecting it during a visit saves a second postage charge.

A parcel receiving service in Germany can be useful if you will be nearby anyway. Check registration, receiving fees, opening hours and storage periods in advance. Not every parcel collection point accepts deliveries from every carrier.

Rates checked on 23.09.2026 · Starting rates for small parcels

The totals cover only the two shipping stages. The price of the goods is additional.

Mailboxde: Small parcel up to 500 g and max. 35 × 25 × 5 cm, including 2.85 € handling. Postage is 9.97 € for GLS parcel shop collection in the Netherlands or Denmark, or 13.01 € for Deutsche Post delivery to Spain. Checked in the shipping calculator for postcodes 1012 JS, 1000 and 28001. The lowest home-delivery rate for this small parcel in the Netherlands and Denmark was 14.48 €. Other parcel sizes or delivery locations may have different rates.

D-A-Packs: Smallest parcel category XS: the longest and shortest sides must total no more than 35 cm. The “EU-Weiterversand” rate includes receipt in Kiefersfelden and home delivery: Zone 1, including France, from 16 €; Zone 2, including Sweden, from 17 €. The published EU table still carries the date 26.04.2023. Please have the price confirmed before booking.

Ship-it: From 14.30 € from the German receiving address to a collection point in South Tyrol. The calculator confirmed this rate for a 500 g small parcel. This is for collection; the provider advertises home delivery from 22 €. No insurance was shown for the collection quote. This does not automatically exclude statutory liability.

Possible extras: Island or remote-area surcharges, storage, repacking, combining several shipments, additional insurance, identity verification and returns. The actual parcel dimensions, including packaging, count. A large, light box can cost more than a small, heavy one.

These starting rates are guidance for the small-parcel options listed, not a binding shipping offer or a guarantee of the lowest price on the market. Weight and dimensions including packaging, the destination and extra services determine the actual price. Each parcel may be charged separately. Check your own rate directly with the service.

Our tip before ordering

Compare the total price and the terms. For furniture, bulky items or several items, ask us about the expected number of parcels, their weight and dimensions before choosing a service.

A small shop.
New requirements.

Small shop.
Big favourites.

We would love to deliver your favourite finds directly to more EU countries again. For now, as a small, family-run shop, we unfortunately cannot afford the additional ongoing costs.

The reason is the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, or PPWR. It aims to reduce packaging waste and improve the collection and recycling of packaging. This is an important goal.

However, sales to other EU countries bring country-specific obligations and costs, such as registrations, volume reporting and the appointment of local authorised representatives. These fixed costs are significant even when only a few orders go to a country.

That is why we currently deliver directly to Germany and Austria. Shipping to other EU countries is not subject to a blanket legal ban. For us, meeting the requirements there is currently financially unviable. You can still order for delivery to a German address.

Read more from ARD, ZDF & public authorities ↓

PPWR stands for Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. It is Regulation (EU) 2025/40. It entered into force on 11 February 2025 and has generally applied since 12 August 2026. Some requirements take effect later.

It covers the life cycle of packaging: less unnecessary material, better reusability and recyclability, and rules for collection and disposal. Not all packaging obligations are new; national rules already existed. The new regulation changes and harmonises the legal framework.

European Commission overview (English) · Original regulation (German)

Businesses must contribute to organising and financing the disposal of their packaging. This is known as “extended producer responsibility”. Here, “producer” does not only mean the factory that makes a box; depending on its role, an online retailer can also fall within this definition.

For direct sales to consumers in other member states, the requirement to appoint an authorised representative based there is particularly relevant. There are also the respective registration, reporting and participation obligations within packaging waste management schemes. The scope and procedures depend on the country and the business’s specific role.

For us, this means additional fixed costs and administrative work for each destination country, on top of packaging and postage. At our order volumes, we currently cannot fund this in every country. As a private customer, you do not have to register yourself simply because you buy from us.

Relief for smaller businesses is being discussed. On 8 September 2026, Germany’s Federal Environment Ministry outlined proposals including exemptions for small packaging volumes and later registration. The European Commission also refers to a proposal to suspend the authorised-representative requirement.

Proposals are not yet a generally applicable exemption. We therefore cannot give a date for resuming direct deliveries to more EU countries. We will announce changes on our Shipping and delivery page.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?

What to know before ordering.

No. Your billing address remains your actual address. Enter the German receiving address as a different delivery address. Copy the forwarder’s address exactly, especially your customer number. If checkout does not accept your combination of billing and delivery addresses, please contact us.

That depends on the service. Parcel size, weight, value and excluded items all matter. Our examples cover standard parcels, not furniture, pallets or freight shipments. Please check these shipments with us and the forwarder in advance. For example, Ship-it’s terms exclude shipments worth more than 600 €.

Receipt, handling and transport by the forwarder add to our delivery time. Some services wait for your authorisation or payment. Allow extra time and check the current transit times for your country. An extra forwarding stage makes delivery in time for a birthday or trip less predictable.

Your statutory rights against Hipster Baby remain unaffected. Our cancellation and returns policy applies to cancellation and returns. Forwarding is a separate service; its cost is not automatically refunded when you cancel the purchase of the goods.

Check with the service in advance how returns, damage and loss are handled and what insurance applies. Keep the tracking numbers for both delivery stages. If there is a problem with your order, please contact us; if the problem occurs during forwarding, also contact the service you appointed. Observe the applicable deadlines.

Some services offer this. It may save postage, but consolidation, new packaging or longer storage can cost extra. Mailboxde’s parcel consolidation, for example, is an additional paid service. Compare the total price first and allow for the extra waiting time.

The table shows only a few examples. Check your country and postcode directly with the provider. Not every service covers every EU country or island. If you have a suitable German receiving address, you can use it as your delivery address with us. For Austria, you can continue ordering normally with direct delivery.
